Handyman Services in Cambridge

From the small jobs that never quite get done to a full day’s list, here’s what I can help with around your home. If it’s not listed below, just ask — there’s a good chance I can still sort it. Everything’s done by one trusted person, with an honest quote before I start.

Repairs & odd jobs

The everyday list — the bits that have stopped working or never worked right in the first place.

  • Door, lock, handle and hinge repairs and adjustments
  • Re-sealing baths, showers, sinks and worktops
  • Filling, patching and small repairs to walls
  • Tightening loose fittings, banisters, toilet seats and cupboard doors
  • General “to-do list” jobs around the house

Flat-pack assembly & mounting

Built solid, fixed straight, and the packaging tidied away after.

  • Flat-pack furniture — IKEA, Wayfair, Argos, John Lewis and more
  • TV wall mounting, with cables tidied
  • Shelves, floating shelves and brackets
  • Blinds, curtain poles and tracks
  • Pictures, mirrors and wall fixings
  • Anchoring tall wardrobes and bookcases to the wall for safety

Painting & decorating

Neat lines, clean edges, and no mess left behind.

  • Touch-ups and full rooms, interior
  • Doors, frames, skirting and woodwork
  • Patch filling and prep before painting
  • Exterior painting of doors, fences and trim

Minor plumbing

  • Changing taps, washers and cartridges (dripping taps sorted)
  • Toilet seats, fill and flush valves
  • Outdoor taps and minor leaks
  • Connecting washing machines and dishwashers

Minor electrical

Non-notifiable jobs only — the simple swaps that don’t require certification.

  • Light fittings and pendants (like-for-like)
  • Socket and switch fronts
  • Pull cords and fittings

Outdoor & seasonal

  • Gutter clearing
  • Flat-pack and assembly of garden furniture and sheds
  • Fence panel repairs and small outdoor fixes

What I don’t do

I’ll always be straight with you about what needs a specialist. Gas work must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and notifiable electrical work (new circuits, fuse boards, bathroom and outdoor wiring) by a Part P registered electrician. Boilers and major plumbing are a plumber’s job. If your job falls into one of those, I’ll tell you, and I’m happy to point you towards someone good.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on the job, but I keep it simple and honest — a clear quote before I start, with no hidden call-out games. The best value is always to save a few jobs up for one visit. You can read more in my guide to handyman costs in Cambridge, or just get in touch for a free quote.
